Why I Do What I Do

Sustainable performance is increasingly a strategic necessity — not a reputational add-on. Markets, regulators, and investors are reshaping the rules of value creation. The question for executives is no longer whether to transition, but how to do so in a way that strengthens competitive position and long-term returns.

My work focuses on enabling that transition from a financial and governance perspective. With a background in finance, I operate at the intersection of circular economy strategy, risk management, and capital allocation. I translate sustainability ambitions into financial logic: how does it affect risk exposure, cost of capital, asset valuation, performance metrics, and board-level decision-making?

In my academic research, I develop practical frameworks and decision-support tools that integrate sustainable value creation into existing financial and governance structures. Data and digitalization play a key role in this: reliable information is essential for credible steering and accountability.

In parallel, I advise executive teams and supervisory boards on embedding circular and sustainable strategies into governance, internal decision processes, and value chain collaboration. My role is to bring structure, financial clarity, and strategic coherence to complex transition challenges.

Ultimately, I help organizations align long-term value creation with disciplined financial management — ensuring that sustainability strengthens resilience, performance, and legacy.
